Perth Market Snapshot for the week ending 28 April

The Easter and ANZAC Day public holidays had an impact on the Perth property market, with sales declining 25 per cent this week.

REIWA members reported 344 transactions, which can be attributed to a 16 per cent decline in house sales, a 42 per cent decline in unit sales and a 47 per cent decline in vacant land sales.

Thornlie, South Perth, Bassendean, Baldivis and Dianella were the top selling suburbs this week.

Listings for sale

There were 16,899 properties for sale in Perth at the end of this week, which is in line with last week.

A closer look at listing stock levels shows house listings remained stable, listings for units increased by one per cent and listings for vacant land decreased by one per cent.

This week’s total figure is on par with levels seen four weeks ago and are one per cent higher than the same time last year.

Perth rental market

REIWA members reported there were 7,165 properties for rent in Perth at the end of this week, which is two per cent more than last week.

This week’s rental listings figure is six per cent higher than levels seen four weeks ago and 20 per cent lower than the same time last year.
