Fix these things to add value to your home before putting it on the market

So, you’ve decided to sell your home, and you want to get the best possible deal with the current market value of your property. Before putting it on the market, there might some features in your home that needs a little fixing, particularly if it’s an old property.

Fixing parts of your  property up will not only make it more appealing to more buyers which could amp up its value with these features in good shape.

A good impression

It is important that the property makes a good impression on people as they arrive or drive past.

As selling homes is a numbers game, making your outdoor as appealing as the inside of the house. By increasing the street appeal of the property, more buyers will get through the door,  the more likely you are to sell and the higher the price is likely to be.

If you turn off the buyers with a rusty letter box or unkempt fences, chances are less interested people are going to enter in your house.

Cheap and relatively easy, a fresh coat of paint can work wonders for blemished walls or a tired décor.

Walls in bedrooms and living spaces

Any marked, chipped or damage paint are very noticeable to buyers, especially in living spaces. After all, you want your home to be presentable when the buyers arrive.

Whilst peeling paint is common, some people might mistake it for a leak or damage.

Potential indoor and outdoor hazards

Over the years, you’ve probably learned to avoid trippy floorboards, worn out carpets and rogue pavers in the garden path. You might have forgotten it’s there.

But first-time visitors will almost certainly find a way to trip on them. To help your customers avoid stubbing their toes, it’s better fix anything that could impede their experience during the open house.

Fixing the roof for possible missing tiles or leaks is also worthwhile. Redoing an entire roof isn’t cheap but an obviously damaged roof can signal the buyer to check for more damage.
